للوحة محفور فيها الأرقام من 1 إلى 9 أفقيا ورأسيا ، وموجود بها 9 فتحات للأفراد الخشب ، ومعها صندوق فيه 81 خرزة و 9 أشخاص لإجراء عمليات القسمة المختلفة
يبدأ الطفل بمعرفة أنه سيقسم العدد المطلوب على عدد الأفراد الخشب (العساكر) فيأخذ عدد من الخرز المقسوم ويقوم بوضع المقسوم عليه من الأفراد الخشب ثم يضع الخرز أفقيا ويكون نهاية الخرز عند نهاية الأفراد الخشب ويعيد تقسيم الخرز المتبقي بنفس الطريقة بالتتابع حتى الانتهاء من كل الخرز
ويكون الناتج هو رقم الصف الذي انتهي عنده من وضع الخرز وإذا تبقى عدد من الخرز غير كافي لإتمام الصف (أقل من المقسوم عليه(عدد الأفراد الخشب) فيحتسب كباقي للقسمة
بإجراء عمليات القسمة على جداول القسمة كاملة وتكرارها أكثر من مرة ، سيصبح مفهوم القسمة واضح ومفهوم في ذهن الطفل
